Q1. I have a personal firewall such as ZoneAlarm and have problems with the Standalone version?

This issue has been addressed in v1.1.3 or higher.

Note that in order to comply with the security model of NT/2000/.NET, the architecture includes a separate program (Snapshot Manager) that acts as a server to the GUI.

The following settings are required for ZoneAlarm:

Under the "Security" tab

  * The box labeled "Block local servers" should be unchecked

  * Advanced...Add>>...IP Address

       Description "Local Host" IP Address "127.0.0.1"

Under the "Programs" tab

Q2. I am incharge of a large network, I find it difficult to distribute the WCW Agents manually. Is there any better method?

You should use the Client Manager that is installed along with the WCW Console, it provides you all the options needed to distribute the WCW Agent by sitting at one location. You could also check the Health of an Agent as well as start up an Agent that may have failed due to some reason.
