WhatChanged deploys a small lightweight agent on each monitored system that periodically takes a snapshot which includes detailed information on all files, directories, registry and system configuration information, and then sends the snapshot to the WhatChanged Console. Unlike first generation products, only differences are captured in order to minimize disk space usage and increase speed. Snapshots can be scheduled at off-peak times or taken on demand. A detailed comparison with any previous snapshot is possible.
