WhatChanged, the Change Monitoring component of EventTracker is must-have software for critical servers and desktops. From a single console, WhatChanged allows you to monitor and manage change over the enterprise which results in enhanced security, reduced system downtime of critical resources and lower overall IT costs.
WhatChanged enables you to quickly define a policy that makes sense for your organization so that it monitors and alerts just on changes in your critical applications, services, registry entries or files. On a user-specified basis, periodic snapshots of the monitored system state are taken and compared against either the previous state to view change over time, or a master configuration which is useful for monitoring critical server configurations.
- Minimize security risks caused by authorized and unauthorized changes
- Identify any changes in EXE, DLL, Drivers, INI files, registry and other configurations
- Reduce the time and cost associated with configuration changes
- Standardize server configurations
WhatChanged performs regular and automatic scanning of your systems – whether or not they are exposed to known vulnerabilities which may generate potential security risks for your environment. It supports all Windows CVEs.
- Take daily snapshots of your systems
- Compare what has changed with previous snapshots
- Quickly restore the entire registry to a previously working configuration
- Ability to undo the registry restore
The Change Browser is an information rich browser that displays a comparison of current versus previous snapshots.
The Change Browser is very similar to Microsoft Windows Explorer which is the most used utility to diagnose problems. The color-coded presentation of useful information about system changes helps you resolve the problem quickly.

How do you manage backup and recovery of the registry on your machines? It's a thorny problem. Experienced system administrators learn early to be wary of registry problems because a single issue can wipe out dozens of hours of work. Despite knowing this, many system managers have no good way to manage the registry.
With WhatChanged you don't need to maintain a cumbersome backup of each registry. WhatChanged does it for you automatically at preset intervals (e.g. daily) and keeps only differences to minimize disk space. The Change Browser displays all changes or other details.
Quickly restore the entire registry to a previously working configuration. When faced with unknown registry problems, this feature can get a system back into operation with one click. Changed your mind? Want to undo the registry restore? Simple -- one more click and the restoration is undone.
A comprehensive report about what has changed on your systems can be generated. Email it to your help desk or to your vendor for better results.

Manage up to 64 snapshots. Recover previous configurations. Display differences in configurations between now and in the past. Unlike first generation programs, WhatChanged only stores the differences and is very frugal with disk space.

Increase your productivity by managing all systems from a central location.
Browse changes of any system on the network or take a snapshot of any system on demand. Within the security policy, even restore the registry on any system.
